How To Use ABMAAM's Shaving Oil - The Official ABMAAM Shaving Procedure
Shaving oils allow you to see where you're shaving so you can get good, clean lines around a beard, sideburns or goatee.
Our shaving oil can be used two ways:
1. Line ups - You can apply a few drops of oil to the hairline and small areas for a smooth, clean line up. Be sure to allow oil to sit a minute before you start.
2. Full Facial Shave - (Preferred) Preparation is the key to a great shave, so start by softening stubble with a face wash or a hot, damp towel for 30 seconds, leaving face slightly damp.
Next, with your hands clean and damp, pour a few drops into the palm of your hands. The biggest mistake men make when using shaving oil is that they use too much. Just a few drops of oil is all that's required to achieve perfect results. Once the oil is in your palms rub your hands together and massage into the skin, using gentle circular motions to ensure the stubble is adequately coated. The combination of oil and water acts as a carrier for the oil ensuring even coverage.
For the best possible shave, use short strokes following the direction of hair growth and rinse your razor regularly to keep the blades free from stubble. Leave areas where stubble is toughest (like above the lip) until last, as it'll give the hair more time to soften. After shaving, rinse or wipe the skin with a towel and warm water and finish off by applying Bump Killer to protect and condition the skin from bumping. A few drops of oil can be applied at night over a layer of Bump Killer to hydrate and heal the skin.
